The Court considered the law relating to reporting restrictions in a judgment as to which details could be published concerning a case where Bristol CC had been found to have left a young girl subject to an interim care order in an unsafe foster placement. The extent of the identification of members of the foster household was the major issue
The court made a suspended order of imprisonment and an order impounding the passport of a husband who the court had found guilty of a culpable failure to pay an award made to the wife by the USA court.
The CA allowed the appeal of parents against a fact finding judgment that one or other of them had been responsible for non-accidental skull and rib fractures to a child. The medical evidence was that the skull fractures were inexplicable and did not fit her clinical presentation.
