The Court ordered that two girls of 11 and 15 should receive the MMR vaccination despite the opposition of both the girls and their Mother.
The Court imposed a further 3 concurrent sentences of six months imprisonment on a Father who had already served 21 months imprisonment for his continued failure to comply with court orders to disclose details relating to the whereabouts of his daughter in Egypt.
The CA addressed the jurisdiction of the court and the roles of the court and the local authority in a case where a care order had been made against the will of the local authority. In the instant case the matter was remitted for the local authority to provide evidence of the services available under care or supervision orders.
The CA allowed a Father’s appeal and set aside an order granting a Mother permission to take a child to Kenya for a holiday. The safeguards envisaged by the Judge were not available in fact and their was not sufficient expert evidence in respect of remedies in Kenya.
